Chapter Projects

Historic Preservation

Phillis Wheatley Chapter, NSDAR, participates in several projects to promote historic preservation. Several of our members have created historical clothing and talked to the public about women's lives in the late 1700s. Members perform headstone cleaning, cemetery clean-ups, and genealogy research as well. Our chapter also participates in the local America 250 Commission to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the American Revolution.

Education

Our chapter is involved in several forms of community outreach to promote our mission of education. Members stock Little Free Libraries, help in classrooms, write articles, and talk to the public about various subjects related to the American Revolution.

Patriotism

To promote our mission of patriotism, our chapter is involved with the Bull Run Warrior Retreat. In addition, we participate in Wreaths Across America, send cards and letters to active-duty service members, act as Honor Flight greeters, send care packages to U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs centers, and honor those who have bravely fought for our freedoms.
